Default Ohio Bike Week

I'm looking for some advice:

I've been to Laconia every year for the last few years and was debating doing something different this year.

My wife and I don't drink much, but do enjoy taking good rides, shopping with vendors, seeing bike builds, grabbing great food and possibly seeing one concert.

Can someone fill me in on how good Ohio Bike Week is for these things? Laconia sometimes feels old and tired and I was hoping for a good new experience. I'm mainly looking to make sure we aren't bored there as we don't hang out in bar scenes.

Thanks...

They have everything you say you want. It is somewhat spread out across northern Ohio. Many events that are not bar related. There is good riding along the lake and some of the events are on the islands. The islands of Lake Erie are a lot of fun. I always enjoy myself at Ohio bike week. I am sure there is a website with schedules.

The riding in the area is flat and straight but has some nice scenery. The show itself is OK for a few days but the good riding is in southeastern Ohio.

Never been to Laconia so I can't compare but live in Ohio and been to OBW several times and frequent the area a lot. The riding is flat and uneventful but to me the ride along Lake Erie (Rt. 6) between Vermillion and Sandusky is as relaxing as any. But I am partial to water. A nice ride is over Sandusky bay to Marblehead. Take a day and visit Put-In-Bay by ferry. Leave the bike at the hotel, A party town as good as any. Plenty of live bands at OBW and plenty of the normal bike week vendors and such. For the most action visit on the second weekend. The negative for me are the motels, they jack the prices 2-3 times normal and most places are just plain wore out. If I recall the OP is from Syracuse, sounds like some great riding west to western Pa through Finger Lakes area.

CEDAR POINT!! If you like Roller Coasters, THIS is the park. Voted Worlds Best Coaster Park.

Also, Cleveland isn't far from the center of OBW. An hour or so. Plenty to do there, actually.

The new casino, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Science Center, Museums are nice. Botanical Gardens are as well.

For eats, West Side Market is a must. Iron Chef, Micheal Symon, has a couple upscale joints in town (Lola & Lolita), but for a great burger (he just won the 2014 People's Choice Award for America's Best Burger) he has a couple burger joints, The B Spot.

Southeast Harley has a diner inside the dealership. It overlooks the shop, where you can watch your bike getting an oil change, new tires, etc.

This from the OBW Facebook page;

Tonight at 8pm on the Destination America channel - the Ohio Bike Week episode of "Road to Sturgis". The Discovery Network chose three rallies in the country to cover for this series and OBW was one of them... Thank you to the City of Sandusky Police Department for their cooperation and help! (Check your local listings for channel number) Looking forward to another great year!

That's tonight, Feb 26th. Might give ya some insight.

I watched the last 20 minutes. Looked like fun. The motorcycle show had a promotion stand with info as well. We might run up this year if we dont have anything going on then....

Sounds like a fun time. Are there any must see events?
