Question Tent advice

I want to get a tent for riding but I don't know which one or type? Single rider but would like a 2 person just for the room. Looking to spend 100-150 if that's reasonable?? Will be traveling Blueridge Drive this summer and want to camp along the way.
Any suggestions on something lightweight, sturdy and compact?
Thanks, Jeff

Cabela's Getaway tent
Get the 4 man, not much heavier but the extra space
is worth it.
$150.

Works great for RAGBRAI for the last 5 years

I bought a 1 person from bass pro shops for 40bux. It's called a biker/hiker tent. If someone is riding with me they will have **** and just have to sleep close to make it work

I would suggest at least a 3 man tent. You will want the extra room. Get one with a full coverage rain fly also. You should be able to find one no problem with what you want to spend.

My friend from Australia came through on his bike a few years back and he had a swag, since seeing that, I would rather have a swag than a tent, but never saw where to find them state side.
It's a cross between a sleeping bag and a tent with a pillow with a padded bottom

That's a great price for the Cabela's tent,
I might just get a spare.
Its fits perfectly on my left saddle bag
and the right side holds my sleeping pad.

Check the reviews on the tent too from

get one high enough that you can stand up in it. putting your pants on laying down isn't easy. also have enough floor space so you can keep stuff inside and not be in your way when it's time to sleep.

Big 5 Sporting Goods = The NorthFace two man backpacking tent withstands 60+mph winds and also great in the rain it's a low profile tent. THE Stove I use is a PEAK unleaded gas burner with hand pump up tanks it well burn at 10,000 ft elevation, It folds up very small for packing. The fuel cells are small I used them as a reserve or siphoned fuel from the bike tank for the burner.
That's my two bits worth.
