Going to make a run from the Kansas City area to Deal's Gap this weekend. Probably staying in St Louis Area friday night, looking at Lenoir City area Saturday night, then ride the dragon and get back to Nashville area Sunday night, back to KC on Monday. Any advice on motels/campsites in eastern Tennessee? How about a good place to eat?
In Lenoir City on Saturday night?
Take a ride across the dam on 321 out to Smokey Mountain Harley Davidson.

You sure want to cover that much ground from Friday-Sunday?
It is a lot of miles, about 450/day. Would rather have another day, but I gotta get what I can on the 3 day weekends. I get 2 weeks vac a year, gonna try to do Sturgis on the way to Beartooth for one week. Did a week in the Tx Hill country already this year, rode the 3 sisters. Too many trips, too little time!

I know you want to do "Deals Gap" but its going to PACKED this weekend. Watch out for LEO's they will be out in FULL FORCE! Not to mention the rookies on bikes. Just a thought, but there are MANY other roads in the area just as good.
I was thinking of doing the same trip from Omaha this weekend, but I know the gap will be packed and don't want to deal with that. Instead I'm going to gas monkey bar and grill in Dallas with a buddy. You are more than welcome to tag along if deals gap doesn't work out for you.
Thanks Carcruizer1955. I guess about anywhere will be busy this weekend. I'm staying off the Interstates as much as possible. This could turn into a learning experience...
Is that a 55 Chevy?

Thanks for the offer haak30. Dallas is a lot closer for me, but I just got back from San Antonio a few weeks ago. Let me know how the Gas Monkey turns out. I'm a fan of the show. But not the rusty Ford truck...
