If you make it to the western end of the UP, co rd 519 through the porcupine mtns. And stop at Lake of The Clouds. Continue on the shore of lake Superior via South boundary rd.

 

Been there and done that ... and then ride H-58, it's well worth the time.

 

An elevator ride to the top of the ski jump in Ironwood Mi. is a way cool way to break up the day.

Made a simillar trip last year. One of the best i've done. i've seen no mention of the Soo locks by any one yet. We buzzed up there and took a boat tour through the locks. I thought it was pretty cool.

 

The Car Show in St Ignace is real nice .. a lot of rare ones show up!

 

Early in this thread you asked about the Harley Davidson dealer in Traverse City. I've been there a couple times and it is very small. They also sell Kawasaki, Polaris, John Deere and Victory. In my opinion it's not worth the stop.
If you get to Houghton, Michigan stop in at KBC or Keweenaw Brewing Company for one of their beers.
