Lived there 10 years. Assume you are on bike. If you like to hike, stop at one of the visitor centers and ask for a recommendation. Yellowstone is great from the road and fantastic in the back country. If driving and stopping, check out Norris Geyser Basin. Riding out to the Northeast Gate is pretty nice, from Canyon go over Dunraven to Tower. If you go out the north gate stop at the K bar in Gardiner and have a pizza. Can't really go wrong with wherever you go.
we did obligatory old faith.....
Now we can say we've done it.
We actually liked the walk through geyser basins more. Not as "wow" but very cool and way less folks. We were told and seemed to agree in our short visit, more wildlife on the east side. They said the wolves, which we did not see, were findable on the road out to Cody. The grizzly we saw was of the east side of the loop road. Down along the river.
I would love time to hike down and back up to all the falls over looks. Lots of steps down to some of them.
I think I would include some Tetons if I were there 3 days. They were something! I read grizzly sightings were more prevalent down there.
We passed through in a car, spokane to AR trip. I would love to cycle back but be ready for rain in the summer

I am looking forward to the stairs hahaha looks like a **** load of em the google guy walked them so you can goto google and see the falls from the look out.....
Uncle Tom's Trail to the base of the Lower Falls is worth the exercise. All the viewpoints on both sides of the canyon are worthy. Gibbon Falls and the Virginia Cascades are cool. The Upper Geyser Basin is worth the entire walk. I love the hot springs that are there, especially the Morning Glory pool. Norris Geyser Basin is very nice, also. Many people really enjoy the Fountain Paint Pots. Hayden Valley is beautiful, as is Lamar Valley. I have seen wolves in both. A hike to the top of Mt. Washington provides an unparalleled view of the area, and you can see the Tetons from there if there are no forest fires. But, it is quite a hike to the top. West Thumb has a very nice geyser basin right on the edge of Yellowstone Lake. Don't for get to visit Mammoth Hot Springs, either, and be sure to see Tower Falls while in the neighborhood.
Lake Hotel serves a reasonably priced breakfast and dinner.
In other words, see it all. Do it all!
Bison do not like motorcycles. If you are with someone who likes to blip the throttle, put them in front and give them plenty of space!

Cool. Yellowstone is one of my favorite places, and I have been there many times. And, I am sure that I will go there a few more times.
