I like the sound of the Street Sweepers on my 07 Dyna, but with only 20,000 miles on the pipes a couple of the welds holding on the heat shields have broken causing a bad rattle. I think I will look into V&H at this point.

Crap!!!
I was just about to pull the trigger after a ton of research on a set of Sinister Shorty's, now I think I will be moving another direction....
Bad things happen to me already, I certainly don't need any of the experiences I have read here.
What a shame....looks like most things are a materials issue, compounded by the now fixed bad customer service issue.
But still the products are still failing by the looks of these posts.
I am disabled and dont have money to waste on iffy products.
Hope your company can get it together, the pipes sound great and look great.
What a shame...as for me I am going to keep looking
Billy blaze...I have samson exhaust...the hell raisers, I have not had one single problem with them and they sound amazing, everyone compliments them. I see a lot of samson pipes around, mainly the street sweepers...if you want those pipes, get them, if you put them on right you won't have any problems and I know samson will make it right if there is a defect in them. Vance and hines pipes have defects all the time, my friend bought V&H and they came pre-scratched, they sent him new shields to fix the problem but even those shields were dented. I say go with samson, you won't be dissappointed.

several years ago we changed the heat shield brackets and have not had a single heat shield bracket come back with the new brackets. some old inventory from someones warehouse may have had some of our old inventory but we always make it good for the customer.
thank you,
JR
My thoughts?
I have been through a few sets of pipes on a few different bikes and just last year alone changed mufflers 3 times. Every single time I dealt directly with Samson and their techs gave excellent advice and excellent customer service. I always received my order complete and quickly. I am getting ready to change mufflers once again and once again, I will deal directly with Samson. Great product, Great company.

I do not have a set of Samson's, I currently have a Bassani 2 to 1. I am thinking real hard about a set of Samson fishtail duals in black for my Crossbones.
First I would like to say that I don't think you should judge it on this thread alone. A few threads pointing out issues with their pipes is probably a drop in the bucket compared to how many are happy and have had no issues. No company is 100% defect free. The key is wether the company makes good on it, which it sounds like Samson has tried to take a step in the right direction.
I do have a question for the Samson rep on here though. I have heard that fistails can cause tuning issues. Is there any truth to this? How do you think the power difference would be between a 2 to 1 and a set of duals?
I'm in the same situation Billy's in...disabled and after paying bills and rent each month, just don't have much money left. The price of the pipes I want would make it take a couple years of saving up and by then the price will have gone up. Who knows though...maybe I'll win the lottery, lol.
I have never heard good things bout them. service is bad, parts don't fit and chrome bubbles or blues and on and on. I was goin to get them but was told by many not to and now I'm glad i didn't.
I have Samson rolled ovals on one bike and V&H long shots on another. The Samsons have a more acceptable sound level while on the bike and the rolled tips look great. The finish on the Samsons seem to have more problems with marks and require cleaning more often. The long shots have a perfect finish and are loud as h*** with the baffels. I would say the products are at lease equal in quality and will provide years of great service.
