Anyone know the Arresting Red paint code for a 99 FXR2? I Googled with no results and even called the MoCo, they said they can't look up CVO paint codes.
The MoCo will not give out the paint codes for any of the CVO series, no matter how old. The best you are going to do is try to have a paint shop match the color.
When I wrecked my FXR4, I took it to the dealers repair center and they were able to get the paint from the MoCo. They said it was a pain and they had to provide the VIN and proof they were fixing the bike.
This was the place that did it. Maybe they can help you get the right paint. http://hdcollision.com/
Yeah, I wanted to paint my some of the bits on my turbo and they said no way on the paint codes and no way on painting parts that weren't original to the bike. The green flake on my Road King was beyond anything the painters wanted to attempt to match so I chromed it instead. It came out cool but some body color bits on my turbo would have been cool.
Really the only way to get it is for OEM parts and collision repair.
I remember calling after spending a lot of time researching. I got this nice women on the phone and said I'm gonna ask but I think I already know the answer is no. Can I have the paint codes? No. Can you paint non-original HD parts? No. She was very nice though.
I had my trailer painted in the same, gold and black colour, as my 2015 ultra limited Cvo by the dealer. Not a problem so I guess some dealers try a little harder than others.
