Recently purchased a 2019 CVO and wish to keep it warrantee compliant, so I'm not planning on anything major with the exhaust this time around. The dealer recommended replacing the baffles with fullsac for better sound.
Have any of you tried these ? Are they worth the bother ?
I’ve done dozens. They are worth the bother. Won’t make a huge difference without the header, which is highly recommended as well. Get the fiberglass mats with them as they deepen the tone.
Also, if you installed them yourself, how hard was the job.
Thanks.
Yes, and yes. Put a set of 2.25” cores on my ‘18 and got my rumble I was looking for. Not crazy loud, but deep and throaty. Great bang for the buck.
I wasn’t able to get the welds ground out with just a Dremel so I took the cans to a local shop, and they had a helluva time getting one factory baffle out. The other one just popped out. I’m sure with the right tools it’d be a piece of cake unless one of the factory welds is super sloppy. Once the stock baffles were out it was fairly easy to finish up. Getting the Techmat & screens in was kind of a pain, but not too bad.
I highly recommend them.

Reason: Missing space
Well I wish I had not seen this thread. My stock M8 CVO sounds sick in a bad way at idle. On the road it sounds okay and a little better than when new. With 11 k miles it has improved. I would like to get a little better sound and this seems to be a great way to do it.
I had the 2' baffles on my 2017 cvo limited with the blankets and screens, wasn't quite happy with the sound so I ordered the 2.25" baffles and like UUNetBill said Not crazy loud, but deep and throaty. Now I am havig a debate with myself about getting the mx headpipe.

Well, after an engine rebuild at 3,100 miles, Im not doing anything that might affect my warranty, at least not until Im ready to look into a big inch S&S crate motor or something...
I initially did the 2.25 fullsac cores and techmat on my '17 CVOSG. Great sound for very little $ and effort. I had no problem grinding out welds with my dremel. Just be patient and use the right bit for grinding steel. Here's a sound clip. Quality is not the best with my iPhone.
Then this past spring I added the fullsac headers, HD Stage 2 torque cam, tune and pulled out the techmat. Love it!! Nice idle rumble, loud on WOT, and pulls harder. But still not too loud at cruising speeds. Here's a riding clip. Read the notes to skip to a few key sections.... idle, WOT, etc. I'm staying at this setup. Love it!!
