Don't believe a word of what a seller says.. They probably pulled the dip stick if you are lucky. Bet the oil is probably even dirty. Know that you can do your own service on whatever can come up. Or stay the heck away from it.

I bought the 93 Jeep above for not a lot of $$. Had 299 K on it. Was pretty much rust free and looked like you see it. Had a little water leak behind exhaust manifold. Before it was over with, I had run out of room in the garage for parts and was wheelbarrowing them to shed. Nine months later after an inframe rebuild, rebuilt the transmission and resealed transfer, rebuild brake system, few universals, exhaust, soft windows, it's like new. Grandaughter loves it. She now has 308,600 miles on it. Just replace starter and battery and spent two days tweaking what 9600 miles had done. Never ending. and OK if you can do it. It would have been ready for the junkyard if you paid someone to do all that. And even more so for a bike. Harley parts are not cheap.

Yeah, I agree, unless you are a damn good mechanic this is not the bike for you. Everything might work today and not tomorrow. At 202,000 miles that bike should be on its should be on it's second or third engine depending how many major rebuilds were done. If you are lucky and take good care of a Harley you can get about 100K out of the engine before it requires big time work. At that point everything starts to become suspect, wiring suspension, trans, radio...etc
This not the bike you want for your first Harley.

Default Not my first Harley..

Been ridin since 1966, had 2 pans, now I have a 90 evo with 105 k. Did a top end at 55k, head work, cam, .010 over, runs great, just looking to upgrade. I keep thinking that with that many miles some work had to have been done. I would love to open her up and see adj pushrods and gear drive cams. If it has stock cam chain shoes, how are they worn, is the motor a time bomb? Hard tellin not knowin!
