Check HD recalls Put in your VIN. Not everything is a Recall. HD often covers up by calling it a service bulletin . those do not show up on the VIN search.

Compensator was a known issue on the 2012's. Mine had two fail, and they did come out with an updated commentator. Lifters were also a known issue.

Bikes made between Oct and Dec of 11 had the regulator issue. I was on a trip to dads, when mine failed on a Sunday and no open HD dealer for a couple hundred miles. Recall letter was in the mail box when I got home from that trip.

I bought my '13 CVO Ultra new and I have only had two serious issues, both covered under the ESP warranty.

My radio and my voltage regulator both "gave up the ghost" in the summer of '16, within the 25,000-28,000 mile range.

I replaced the OEM hydraulic lifters at approximately 34,000 miles (as a PM measure) and they did seem to eliminate a little "rattle" that I and at about 2800 RPMS when under moderate acceleration, which the bike had from Day One.

I've had to replace my horn TWICE and the latest version does seems to be louder than the previous two.

I've heard many storied about short bearing life on the later model touring bikes but I've yet to replace mine and I have approximately 34,500 miles on mine and on the second set of tires.
I plan to replace the OEM bearings with "ALL *****" next season.

Good luck on your purchase and enjoy!

The actual culprit of the lifter failure/CVO 110" debacle is the ginormous pressures generated via the triple valve springs that HD sourced from Comp Cams.
Install a top quality Kibblewhite, or AV&V progressive wound spring, and those woes are in the rear view mirror.
Not an opinion.

HD has had early lifter failures in many engines over time. my 2016 RGU had them replaced under warranty at 600 miles. I trust you experience on a fix for the SE110.

My 2009 CVO and my 2015 CVO had lifter failure. My 2012 did, after I sold it. My 2013 I had the heads done, used AV&V springs like mentioned above to lower pressures, changed came and put in Woods alph lifters. Never had an issue with lifters on that bike. Traded it this September, longest by far I ever kept a CVO.

My lifters were replaced when I did the 117 kit on mine. They were already worn significantly and that was at 10,000 miles.

I asked them to call me if they detect any other wear while doing the work. Would you guys have replaced anything else? Suggestions welcomed
I believe that you should not be worried about replacing anything on that beautiful bike but you should ride it to see your favorite sister asap.
Love you!!!
