Have a buddy who even took his hotrod bike there until it became more than any “stage” Harley is.

He goes to Ramsey Speed in Phoenix for any performance seeking readers in AZ. Good dude.

But I never encountered any issues during my service period at dealership. Me thinks some just parrot, makes em all bikerish…
ok...so three of us have good dealers

when doing some negotiating, i worked the first 5 service intervals into the price, no way I would have done that if there wasn't real value there and I knew my fellas would do it right, on my '17 they handled the service for the first 40k miles or so, but eventually i started doing all of the service myself....but even when I was doing most of it myself, I still took it for what I called a 'safety check'....i think a second set of eyes is always a good thing

at one of the safety checks, they were checking out brakes, and felt like one of the front rotors was starting to show signs of overheating, they talked to the service plan provider and got em replaced with my cost being $50....and that included an all new brake pads on the front as well

other than the frame, this is a new bike, i'll let the fellas at the dealership handle it to start....there have already been a couple of updates, and a recall on a brake line fastener.....i don't mind doing the fluids and checking to make sure fasteners are tight....I'll take over most of it after 20k miles....the brakes are easy to do and that is one of the things where I will do it myself....cleaning calipers takes a little more than a few squirts of brake cleaner

I am in the never dealer camp. But I am also a mechanic by trade and enjoy riding, washing ,maintenance on all my stuff and have the facility and tools.

With this new ride, I was contemplating to give them a chance and let them do the 1K...

Then their BS started like this
1, After the initial service, oil changes are every 2500 miles ( All Three holes )
2, if you run syn oil you can go a little longer but NO Harley comes with SYN from the factory.
3, HD is just following the automotive industry that is all 2500 mile oil changes.
4, New bike on delivery had a stone dead battery
5, New bike did not have two of the IFCU updates.
6, Out the door I had low tire PSI warning, both were around 5-6 lbs low.

I have zero faith in dealerships!

Bought my Heritage new in 2013. It’s never been back to the dealer. 20,000 miles and no issues. I change fluid all three holes once a year with Mobil 1 V-twin.

CVO's come from the factory with SYN3.
Oil change is 1K, 5K, 10K, 15K, 20K and every 5K after.

Last time I had my scooter 2009 FLHTCU in the dealership was for a brake light switch and a front tire replacement ( both under warranty ) .. It was a few months old ... Hasn't been back since ... It sure seems that confidence in their services is extremely low

I did my 1st oil change on my new 21 CVO Street Glide at 500 miles. I kept all my receipts and even took pictures of the oil debris on the drain plug when I removed it. When I took it to the dealer for the service appointment, Dealer gave me hell and said I should not have done that and that they would not sign off on the service record and if there was a warranty issue, they would not cover it. Thanks alot harley, after spending $58,988.00 CND and you treat me like that. I was only trying to do things right.. Its out of warranty now, but ones things for sure, they will never touch my bike again. The only person will be me.

moot point but I would have reported that and opened a case # with HD Customer Care. and also dealers don't have the final decision on approval or denial denial of warranty claims ... now if it's an obvious void of warranty that caused a problem they may push back on even filing a warranty claim or even working on it but under the contract terms and conditions Owners can report issues directly to the HD CC if they feel they are being incorrectly dealt with by a dealership
