That's my understanding as well.

Struck me as very weird as well so I looked up the cam parts for the 23 and 24 CVOs. From what I saw the 24 CVO ST 121 high output does not have VVT. The cam chest cover is the same configuration to accommodate VVT, but the guts are not there based on the part numbers listed.

Just looked at HD brochure that indicates ST CVO RG does have VVT 121 engine. Plenty of conflicting info…

straight from the HD website descriptions - no VVT on the ST

CVO Road Glide ST - ENGINE Milwaukee-EightŽ 121 High Output
MILWAUKEE-EIGHTŽ 121 HO V-TWIN ENGINE
The Milwaukee-Eight 121 High Output (HO) engine is tuned to produce more horsepower and torque than the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine with a high-performance camshaft, race-inspired high-performance air intake, and elevated 5,900 RPM redline.

CVO Road Glide - ENGINE Milwaukee-EightŽ VVT 121
MILWAUKEE-EIGHTŽ VVT 121 V-TWIN ENGINE
The highest displacement powertrain ever to be factory-installed on a Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycle, the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine features liquid-cooled cylinder heads, variable valve timing (VVT), and a new intake tract. The increased displacement produces more power and torque than the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine, while VVT broadens the overall powerband and improves fuel economy.

The brochure doesn't say it's VVT, it says it is a 121 High Output tuned to produce more Horsepower and torque than the M8 121 VVT.

I am generally not a Road Glide fan but this CVO ST is bad @ss. I think the performance goodies (suspension, brakes, carbon fiber pieces, titanium mufflers, 121 HO) separates it from all other stock Harley baggers. Price is in line with the value and specs too. I won’t be buying one…I prefer non fairing bikes but this is going to be a hot seller.

I am a RG fan and the CVO ST looks great online. HD must know something about hotrodding vvt motors not to put it into this bike, lol. If I rode solo, I would be all over this. Can you imagine what this would cost to convert to a limited!

I am both a road glide and a solo guy. Really nice performance parts on this bike, especially the suspension and brakes and weight savings. HO 121 is nice, but a high RPM motor, not as good for 2 up or touring. It will sell like well.

I'm wondering about the VVT. Harley still doesn't have stage kits for it. No cam, no nothing. I know both Fueling and S&S are working on cams and other upgrades for it. Heck, Harley already has 135" cylinders for it, pistons to. The VVT 121 has the same crank as the 135"

There are some reviews on Youtube of riding this model…watch on TV and prepare to drool. If they had offered this in the Streetglide, I would be tempted….assuming they corrected the instability problem and opened up the top speed again. The review I watched, this guy is hot rodding and you can see the roll on power.
