Screamin' Eagle SE8-515 cam fits 23 CVO but not 24?
Browsing through the P&A catalog online and see the subject cam listed for 23 CVO RG. When the 24 bikes debuted this part was not listed at that time, but it is now. Edit to add it also wasn't shown as an option when the 23 CVOs were released either.
Thought to myself maybe this is the stock cam from the 24 CVO ST so checked the part numbers and they are different. Figured no big deal, maybe it has the same specs as the 24 CVO ST but a different part number because the 24 CVO ST doesn't have VVT and the 23 CVO does.
Got bored and tried to look up the 515 cam for the 24 CVO and surprise, the P&A catalog says it doesn't fit.
Now I'm really confused. Both the "regular" 23 and 24 CVOs have the 121 engine with VVT, but the new cam fits one but not the other?????
I know it's not uncommon to have an error in the catalog, but this is goofy even for HD. What am I missing here that could make it fit the 23 but not the 24? And any idea if the 515 indeed has the same specs as the stock 24 CVO ST cam?
The MoCo seems to be playing games with the SE builder parts. All SE M8 cams "fit" all M8 engines w/o VVT. This includes the latest 511 cam that's in the 2024 CVO RG ST. Whether or not the cams will work well in a particular engine is a different story.
