If you go to the HD main site and do the "My Bike" thing, it will tell you if there is a recall. I know of no recalls, other than Voltage Regulators for some of the 06 models produced for certain months.
You have to admit there is a problem with the bike before issuing a recall, and HD admits to nothing!! All problems are "normal", until the motor grenades.
The reason why you dont see recalls is because they dont call them recalls they use elaberate names for the problems! A perfomance inhancement etc. remember the torque recalibration curve adj.! Oh and the dealers will take care of this remap free of charge.
MOMO knows his stuff. 2007 soft tails have a recall because of battery cables.
Thanks for the web site reference.
Cool! I got that recall paper in the mail for the batt. cables. I think the next one will be the oil leak between head and cylinders! This would be the leaks after I got it back from the dealer and rode it around for a few days.
Detonator,
You may already know this, if you do then this post is for those that do not. Harley cylinders grow about .040" il length as they warm up. Most leaks in the area you indicate come from running the engine at an increased RPM before the engine is fully warmed up. One of the most common causes is when a buddy stops over and wants to hear how your bike sounds after a recent modification. The bike gets started and after a very short warm up is reved up. This increases cylinder pressure and causes this type of leak. Unfortunately the only way to fix it is to put new gaskets and O-Rings in. Of course there are other things, warped heads, untrue cylinder deck, bad gasket, O-Ring. improper torque, etc. that will also cause the problem.
Hope this helps.
