Default stage 1 question

I just bought an 06 Ultra SE, my first CVO bike so please excuse the questions if they're lame. Love the bike but I'm looking to cool down the heat on the right side. I've ordered a set of RJ Originals heat deflectors and want to add a fuel processor. That said, is the air cleaner considered "high flow" enough for stage 1 or should it be replaced? About fuel processors, what's the best way to go on an 06, SERT, PCIII, TFI, etc? Bear in mind that I'm not trying to squeeze out HP, just cool it down.

I have an 07 FLHTCUSE2 as does my buddy Pat. We both went with tru duals.Pat went with SERT with map download. I went with PCIII with dyno tune. Pat commented that my bike ran MUCH cooler than his when he rodeit after the PCIII instalation. Bottom line is that it will run hotter with a LEAN mixture.

Hope this helps

Another option would be the thundermax w/ autotune....

You will get different answers on the air cleaner. It is considered a "high flow" now but most guys have still swapped it out for a K&N or something aftermarket. I did not swap my air cleaner.

As for the fuel management, I run a SERT in my bike and it really cooled the motor down but have known several guys that went the PowerCommander route and have been very happy with it.

I swappedthe HD,air filter element, to a K&N model, because the HD element tends to come apart. The K&N filter will not make any difference, to speak of, flow wise. You already have the stage 1 air filter kit, on your SE bike, it just dependsif you trust the integrity of the cheap HD element.

GP...make no mistake about it, the SEUC does NOT have a high flow A/C assembly. You have a plastic backplate with holes/slots in it. All other SE bikes DO come with the SE backplate and filter (not K&N these days, but a POS paper one that will fall apart). The reason the SEUC does not have the SE backplate is because in EPA testing, they do not just test for emissions, but also for noise, and with the batwing and lowers, the SEUC could not meet EPA standards, thus the non SE A/C assembly. If you change the A/C get a tune.
