Has anyone installed a handlebar mount on a SERK for GPS?
I would recommend Techmount http://www.techmounts.com/products/i...&mount=bar for the handlebar mount. You can get them in any handlebar size, and stem lengths come in short or tall. The mini will work well for a GPS like a Zumo, or any other Garmin product, as well as most other GPS units. The bolt pattern on the plate is a standard AMP pattern, so the cradle for the GPS will bolt straight to the mount. The chrome is excellent on the product, so makes for a nice installation on the SERK.
RAM also makes a lot of mounts, but in my opinion, do not look as nice as the Techmount. I do not recall the handlebar size on the SERK, but the mini is available in either 1" or 1 1/4" bar sizes. The 1" is part number 3097MC...the 1 1/4" is 3099MC. GPS units like the Zumo come with a mount for the clutch clamp but it is BLACK and would not look right on the SERK, IMO.
Those look good, but I think you'd have to order the 30999 model for the SERK. The mini version shown is for a 1" handlebar. I've been using a RAM mount for my TomTom, but I really like this chrome style. Not knowing if they swivel like a RAM I'm not sure if I need the mini (2 1/2 " bar) or the regular.
