I bought the "first" CVO bike built back in 1999. It was the 1999 FXR2. It had everything on it and chrome, chrome, and more chrome. There was NO WAY I could have bought a Dyna and added the same stuff and came in at a lower price ($17,999 MSRP!). I still have it and wont part with it. I just bought a stock StreetGlide after agonizing over a SESG. I finally bought the stock bike and then "CVO-ized" myself by adding everything from the CVO except the 110 motor, the seat, and the oil cooler. I can absolutely guarantee you I spent LESS $$ going this route and feel like I have just a nice of a ride. Especially since there was a $2K premium on the CVO! Sure, I dont have the 110 motor but those buggers are even HOTTER and I dont intend to drag race anyone on this new ride. I think the CVO bikes are great, all of them, but this time around it wasnt for me.

Nope....no regrets.....they are a breed apart, sort-of.....some(here,especially..will be called "garage queens/Scream'n Chicken's)will argue the cost difference/factor, but, will put an az-load o' $$ in their bikes/engines....but will never be a CVO.....an when they go to sell/trade will never recoup what they've put into it....does'n have the CVO "VIN"#...mine still has a high book of almost 19K....I've turn'd down 20K simply cause I love it, and only a limited # of this model produce'd....not sure if I'd ever pay the "new" price, but hope to own another someday....would eventually like ta pick up a 99 FXR "Blue Flame"....only 64 of those were ever offer'd in the US.........

almost 2k on the odometer in about 4 weeks. I love this bike more and more every time I ride it. I'll probably never buy a non CVO again.
