Last week I bought a 2009 CVO Ultra and it's the best bike I've ever owned by far, it's 13 months old, has 3800 km (about 3000 miles) on it and has the extended service plan.
I have a few questions and concerns
When it starts I get a loud bang from the front of the primary, is it the compensating sprocket and do I have to worry about it?
As I'm comming to a stop I can feel the bike shudder, like the ABS if comming on and off. this is not a panic stop but just a normal stop at a light.
The bike is completly stock and so Santa will be bringing me a SERT, true duals and mufflers, do I need a air cleaner? I read something a few months ago about the stock air cleaner being able to handle any changes.
Not sure about the bank, but yes, you should change out the AC with either an SE kit or a Ness Big Sucker. That added to the mix will help cool the bike and with the SERT richen the air fuel mixture up a bit for an overall better running bike. They are way too lean stock.
Don't waste your money with the SERT. Go with the Mastertune TTS. It's the old racetuner without any EPA regulations. More control over the fuel system and works great with the closed loop O2 system. Just removed my SERT on my 08 SE3 went with the mastertune, what a difference !!!!!
Also went with the Super Trapp Fat Shot mufflers with V&H tru duals and the K&N filter. The bike will do a wheelie in second gear.
Removed your SERT? Nothing is attached and why I went with that over a PowerCommnder. Not a lot of room to stuff it with the ABS controller. Is the MasterTune removable programming or something that stays attached?

The Ultra's are nice, aren't they !
Instead of a shudder, is it more like a bump, bump, bump...? If so, have your dealer check the front brake rotors. I made three hard stops for idiots on four wheels and once for a deer. It warped both of my rotors and they were replaced by Harley.
