Default Questions about the CVO's.

Thinking about breaking the bank and getting either the 2012 CVO Street Glide or the Road Glide and I have a few questions for the folks who have purchased a CVO in the past. Do these sell out quick and are the dealers flexible with the price? I have never paid MSRP for any bike/car so is there wiggle room with the price on these? Do the dealers take a down payment to secure the order? I have heard some folks say the 110 engine has cam issues so are there any engine issues? I'd love to wait till early next year to get one but I fear I may have to act soon. Just hate to have a bike sit over winter while the warranty is running.

Don't rush, find a dealer willing to deal, you have the whole year
to get the bike, they won't run out no matter what any local dealer tells you.

Up to this weekend a couple of large dealers here still had 11 CVO's on the floor.

I'd wait until the hoopla is over and see what the result of the new bikes
are as far as sales. Every salesman will rush you, I wouldn't pay over MSRP
for a CVO... (And didn't LOL)

They ARE limited in how many they make. I've worked in a large dealership for 12 years and even we only get 3-4 of each model. Smaller dealers will get less.

At our dealership they pretty much always sell for MSRP and most are sold (deposit) BEFORE they come in.

We've never had any carry-overs, though.

Good luck.

Dealers can sell their bikes at what ever they think the market will support. CVO bike prices seem to vary wildly depending on what area of the country your in and the dealers current financial situation. I've bought 2 CVO bikes from my local dealer over the last 9 years and paid MSRP. I've also seen bikes at other dealers within 200 miles from where I live marked up $5,000 over MSRP. The best advise I can give you is have the cash or financing in hand and if you can find the bike you want at MSRP pull the trigger. Unless you live in an area where bike sales are in the toilette CVO bikes seem to move pretty fast.....unless of course they've jacked the price up.

Could not find locally what I wanted MSRP . . . scoured the country in 2002 . . . found only one dealer who would sell to me exactly what I wanted for MSRP . . . bought a $200 plane ticket, flew from Indianapolis to Pocatella, Idaho, bought the bike (even with an HD loan that day), and rode it back home 1,896 miles in three days . . . still my most memorable ride ever! Got the 1K service done in Des Moines . . . saw some beautiful territory . . . the Tetons, Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, Big Horn Mountains, the Badlands, Sturgis (two days after it was over), Mount Rushmore, and cornfields . . . best decision I ever did . . . Fly and Buy!

The 2012 CVOs are moving . . . find one somewhere, and don't just buy it, experience it with a Fly and Buy!

Thanks for all the input so far folks. Any truth to the cam issues with the 110?

It's not that "limited" as folks would have you think,
Small dealers often dealer trade them to larger dealers
for additional bikes that they normally sell,

In nonesuch, USA selling a $35K bike might be difficult
but in LA, Miami, Daytona etc it's a bike they can move
multiples of easily. In small town America the
dealer prefers to sell street glides or RG customs as
the base of customers typically fits the mold.

So they dealer trade at MSRP and guys like Rossmeyer (RIP)
sell them over MSRP to people who don't know the game.

Orlando HD had 4 Rio Red CVO's 2 Grey CVO Ultra RGs, Two Krypto SG/s , Two Ultra CVOs and at least two softail convertables last month alone.

Daytona buys them up from around the country and then sells them at bikeweek for HUGE mark up as people are led to believe the bikes are not available because their home market is small.

In fact Seminole had one of the Creme and Gold RG's on the floor last weekend and it's been
there for over a month, maybe two... Orlando Just took one of the same in on trade with 1000 miles, guy didn't like the RG, Went back to an Ultra CVO..

So they are there.

Funny story some guy had bought the line of hard to get and was
at Destination HD (Daytona) and paid $15K OVER MSRP for a CVO
thought he got a great deal, he and his wife rode over to Seminole in
Orlando, and were talking to the sales guy about how he just bought
the same bike as on the floor, when asked what he paid the sales
guy told them Seminole was at MSRP on the bike, exact same bike.

His wife about killed him there and they left disgusted with the bike,
the purchase, daytona hd and HD.....

Amazing what a little beer, ***** and testosterone will
get people to pay..

MSRP is a good deal on a CVO. Find the one you love most and buy it! You'll never regret it.

I decided to buy a 2011 SE Ultra in Feb. They started selling them in Aug., and there were still plenty of the red ones around. Also, you don't have to pay MSRP for one. I paid $36,750.00 out the door.
