May have just answered one of my own questions... checking my 04 wish book... Road Glides ONLY can take the NON _VENTED lowers??? This book is an 04 - anything change since then??
Iam a EG guy and helping a friend here. I am about to place an order with LSHD - Talked to Bill Sparks and he suggested the question be posted here
Friends bike is the 2012 Maple/Vivid Black - Wants to order hard Lowers - Does the RG take different lowers then the EG??
Then on the Maple / Vivid Black - Are the Lowers Solid Vivid Black??
ON the 12 CVO - it has that super nice looking Big A/C that curves around --- Does that need a special part to work with hard Lowers...
Thanks for your time and help
BTW - LSHD Free Shipping is down to $250 for about a week...
FYI,
I will go a hugh step further then Bill Sparks.
Here is the exact code for what your buddy needs.
#58854-12CVO $649.00 VIVID BLACK VENTED LOWERS
In 2010, they changed the Road Glide fairing support brackets. This allowed the vented lowers that are normally for the Classics, Ultras, Kings, and Street Glide to be fitted to any 2010+ Road Glide, Road Glide Ultra, Road Glide Custom & 2012 CVO Road Glide Customs.
Good Luck & Ride Safe!

I have a 2012 CVO RG in black and white. (Skunk) The lowers for my color and the blue CVO RG are black . Although I dont have the lowers yet, from what I've read and seen on another site, the lowers do in fact match the inner fairing color and have the flake in the paint.
The stock SE Heavy breather will touch the lowers but you can order a replacement shorter filter which will allow it to clear so you can still use this assembly.
Here is the part # for the 2012 CVORG lowers. Hope this helps. Although HD says that you need the HB kit, I believe you can just get the shorter filter and save some $$$.
Note the $824.95 higher price than the regular lowers. Probably for CVO paint scheme?
58854-12DLO
IN-STORE PURCHASE ONLY Contact dealer for pricing and availability.
Fits '12 FLTRXSE models. Does not fit with stock Heavy Breather Air Cleaner. Requires separate purchase of Compact Design Heavy Breather Kit P/N 28716-10.
LSHD has the 58854-12CVO Vivid Black Lowers - correct for 12 CVO RG in Maple/Black - shipped $539.00
Iam being told that 28714-10 shorter K&N filter will work... for those that have the 12 RG CVO - does the cap/cover for the filter just go over the K&N??? therefore when using the shorter 28714-10 - the stock cover on your CVO work??
Posted as you were typing... looks like the shorter chrome breather might have to be used???? need to check futher or someone here may jump in
Been searching and reading about the shorter K&N filter for the Heaver Breather and the Lowers... Looks like the shorter filter comes with a new backing plate... HOWEVER, a new issue may be waiting... He also wants to get the lowers speaker kit and that speaker kit may have the speaker sticking out just far enogh to make contact with the shorter K&N filters....
So, anyone here running the Heaver breather AND Lowers with speaker kit installed???
Helping friend is turning into more than I thought / LOL > he's a good friend so I press on..
I have the black white 'skunk' 2012 Cvo RG. I just use the soft elephant ears lowers now that it's getting cold. I like the looks of the bike with out the lowers and besides when I had my ultra I never used them anyway for storage. Since I bought the matching tour pack I have plenty of storage. To each his own.
