the have the stage one download or similar cvo program , but if you change things your still going to need it tuned for maximum results, probably get by with the stock program with just pipes but watch for signs of it running lean.And you would still get more results from any mods with it tuned for them. So I guess the answer to if you NEED it was maybe.

The guy at the Harley Store really wasn't sure. He said he knew they had a "download"
If you do any mods other than exhaust, you will need a tuner. I would advise you to get a tuner anyway, just to richen the mixture a bit. Harley's run lean from the factory.

Programmer?.....only if ya bought it used,and the previous owner install'd 1, but....NAhh.....thats just somethin else you'll have ta spend $$ on ta get the thing ta run right.....TTS Mastertune,or SE Pro Supertuner.....rest of'm are junk,or close to it.....
(Dealer might push the SE 'Street Tuner' on ya......don' buy into it......)
