Default 2012 cvo
i have a 2012 cvo ultra at 2500 to 3000 rpm i get a loud metal to metal sound i don't think it is a lifter noise can anybody help me? my dealer says nothing to worry about but i am no noise in my other bikes

Mine has a noise that sounds like valve rattle at those RPM.

My '10 as well but it is a lifter and is now in getting new lifters.

Could be piston slap whic is considered normal on these motors. This bothers a lot of people--including me. If HD says it's normal they will not open up your motor.....I try to not think about it..if it breaks I hope it's close to home.

My remedy is a nice set of ear plugs and turning the tunes louder
