Congratulations on the new Bike.
I have an 08 and I love it.
Not sure about what Harley is trying to accomplish with the lowers, and speakers in the bags. It is almost as though they started with a CVO Street glide and gave up half way thru.
Get to making it your own brother. Race Tune, new exhaust, heavy breather,
aux lighting (which should be stock) move the turn signals from the bars to underneath the aux lights.
The list goes on and on and on. Just cause you bought a CVO doesn't mean your done.
Ride safe and welcome to the club.
This is my favorite bike ever. I loved my Road King Classic, but hated cleaning the spokes, wished I had lowers at times, wished I had a stereo, wished I had hard bags at times. Love the paint scheme on the Anniversary Edition this year and now have a stereo, lowers, no spokes, a tach, and all the chrome I will ever want.
I did add aux lights, but kept the turn signals on the bars, added the rear crash bars since I need somewhere to put the drink holders/bags, added a GPS mount and bought a stock Road King windshield since the new windsplitter doesn't work well for us taller riders, and I installed the Harley Garage Door opener. I'm done for now.
Lots of folks will say this is an attempt at a Street Glide, but I disagree as I have never been fond of the SG. I like being able to remove the windshield on nicer days. We use our Ultra for longer trips and this is the around town and shorter trip bike.
There was a blue one at the local dealership and I must say it is one of the most beautiful factory bikes I have ever seen. If I had the scratch I'd buy one.
I agree on the blue, that is my favorite color and it is beautiful. I really like what they did to the CVO king. Not everyone wants a fairing, but you still want music. Strip off the windshield on a hot day,and still have the tunes, how could it get any better.
It is an awsome bike. I would be be afraid to go cross country on it because it would probably get stolen. Unless u camped everynight and slept with the bike or stayed with friends and lo ken in garage overnight. No wag i would leave that bik,e in a hotel parking overnight
My bf, who is 5'10" is thinking about that cvo windscreen for his flhp since he doesn't like the giant shield he has now nor the buffetting around the shield. Just started hearing about problems with this screen. How bad is it, how tall r u, would a less tall man with a lowered seat have the same issues? Sorry to rob the thread.
