First off...why would your sweetie want to pitch a CVO so soon...?? I'd keep that baby for awhile & enjoy it, especially for that kind of coin...

Secondly, "never" listen to the HD service staff b/c all they want is your wallet. For your situation, call FuelMoto, or MGS Custom Bikes (both forum vendors/sponsors) and talk shop. These guys know their stuff and can recommend great "small investment" upgrades for your wife's scoot. Also, retain the "stock" parts and simply return the bike to factory before selling (if ever). Good luck!

Um, local Harley dealer has been having a lot of people going to Cycle SHack headers and 4 inch Rineharts on CVO's with no tuner needed. Bike will run a little rich, and may experience some minor decel popping but no lean issues. ECM will correct itself for new exhaust. My buddy just ordered the setup for his 13' CVO Road Glide and gonna install himself. As soon as my wallet allows, I will be ordering same setup..

And, get a set of these to move the floorboards away from exhaust. It took me 15 min a side the other night, laying on garage floor doing the install...Best money I've ever invested on a bike (this is my second set), check out the before and after photos:

She puts about 20 thousand miles a year on her bikes and like a woman is always looking for the next best thing. To each their own.

Don't cut the converter out of the stock pipe, spend the money on a Jackpot header and save the stock unit for when she trades the bike in. The stock CVO mufflers sound really good with the new pipe. Spend the coin and get a Powervision for tuning. Fuelmoto can set you up with a map that'll have the bike running smooth and cool. If you want, you can self-tune it easily, but the bike will be fine if you leave it as-is.

I have the same bike and color. I know what she is talking about for sure. I put on pipes (4 inch) no difference. I then added a HD Super Tuner.. help alot . still not great though. Then I added HD air deflectors that mount right under her seat. Bitch to install but helped some more. Not perfect , but better. the first review on that bike , that was there only complaint. more heat from the air cleaner then any were else.talked to a fellow last year in Sturgis.. he gutted his converter and still wasnt that pleased with the heat.

hope this helps

Several choices out there with most of them netting you similar results. As posted earlier some of the various vendors will or have the ability to clear a tuner from its previous marriage.. a divorce!

My choice of head pipe and CVO baffles came from Fullsac. I went this route as I was content with the stock CVO mufflers and they offered an option to "re-core" them. As for a tuner I choose the TTS for no other reason than a good majority of those I ride with have all ended up with a TTS after trying other products.

My first head pipe was the Fullsac C pipe. I later changed to the D pipe for the larger diameter crossover.

C pipe video with 2" cores.. if the sites lets me post a video.

Cores... I originally went with the 2" as I didn't want the bike to loud. They were a nice choice with the C pipe. With the D pipe they were to quiet so I changed to the 2 1/4" cores. They have a nice deep rumble with the D pipe on a 110", big block sounding. Just to try them I went with the 2 1/4 SD cores which is the loudest version Fullsac carries. My train of thought was that if they were to loud I could wrap them with some insulation and tailor them to my sound preference. I never wrapped them!
