no the 900 is not stock and john yes it was a dumb mistake one i wont make again i did have a manual and in almost every single time i referred to it. sporty swingarms are a tad different but not that much of a difference but something i totally missed. thanks for the help

When I recently replaced swing arm bearings in my 76 FLH I found that the pivot bolt was stripped out where it goes into the frame, and wouldn't tighten enough. I was pleasantly surprised to find they make an over-sized, self-tapping pivot bolt for this exact problem. It worked perfectly, and was an easy fix.

and it come in 3 over sizes .025 .050 and i believe .070 larger < never used that one as i believe on some it interferes with the bearings being able to slide on we just welded the hole and re tapped it stock thread -- good point but he is not at that point yet
