Look up a product called Time-serts , been using these to repair blown plug holes on shovels for a couple decades now with no issues . They are a one piece over size steel sleeve not a spring helicoil. They sell kits to repair a number of spark plugs sizes for under $100 US.

What about the metal shavings going into the motor if you were to try and tap it. Not a good idea. Pull the head

Old trick to doing them on the bike is dunk the tap in heavy grease or tapping wax and it catches the shavings, besides it's aluminium and very very small particals if any gets in and guaranteed it's all blown out the first 3 seconds the motor runs. I've lost track of the number of stripped shovel spark plug and timing holes I've done on the bike over the years with no issues.

This happened to me in an old Volkswagen and I bought a sleeve kit(some kinda cool sleeve, can't remember what it's called) installed it and it would blow out all the time.id be driving and pow a plug would shoot through my hood. I'd pull over tap it and install a new coil and plug and drive home. Basically take it in to a proper machinist or you'll keep having an issue.

The coils I had were aluminum so I guess that was the problem. Those steel ones look good

Hello, would you mind to put me in the good direction to find the correct kit ? I'm a bit lost with all the references at time-sert...
My spark plug threads are so worn out on my 82 FXR that I can't fit the damn plugs anymore.
Tks from france

Yes those are the ones but measure the depth of the plug hole in your head to get the correct length inserts, also red loctite them in. I use a small rolled rag with solvent or alcohol to clean the new threads before installing the inserts. Let sit over night before putting the plug in & testing.

Also check Amazon ,

Tks i'll double check. My threads are still there but in pretty bad shape but I still can use them if i'm very careful for the first threads but I want to get the kit around before i'm stuck with the bike.
