HELP Shovelhead no spark
i have a 1979 shovelhead fxe. This is my first bike and I'm new to the bike sene so please bare with me. I thought maybe my coil was bad. Got one off a friend who said it was still good. I tested the ohms on it and it's about 2.8 ohms. I got a new ultima electronic ignition and installed it. I have power to my coil but both posts are are getting power. Is this normal? I've checked grounds, fuses, changed plugs pulled my advance weights and they seem to be working fine. I don't have any electronics on my bars and my on off switch is getting power through it when on. I keep a battery tender on it so I know I'm getting enough power. Is there something I'm over looking? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
