Default Wiring question

Getting started on rewiring my 75 FXE, using a new main harness only. I'm getting away from the handlebar starter switch-it was always a weak link in the system, so only the front brake light switch and the taillight will have to be added (no taillight or handlebar wires with the harness) wondering if it would be considered an upgrade to modify the circuit breakers to fuses. Any advantages to fuses?

Besides cost, I don't see any advantage. Fuses need to be replaced when they blow, circuit breakers reset themselves.

You could always go solid state and eliminate all of the relays, circuit breakers, fuses and all that gubbins. You'll end up with much simpler and more reliable wiring loom:

This is how I am rewiring my shovel.
