I used Muriatic acid then POR-15 on my tanks as I've done many times before. I've had excellent results.

POR-15 seems to get good reviews - but you do need to follow all the steps to clean, prep and seal the tank properly.....

If my memory is correct, the 80 FLT was what is now called a shark nose. It was the only 5 speed rubber mount that year. The FXR hadn't hit production yet. Looks like that bike had the fairing removed and a later headlight nacelle and spots were added, which actually makes it look good. I had one back then. Wish I would have thought of that.
