Any love for green? A venomous shade of green pearl, with some understated pin striping or a touch of gold leaf would absolutely leap off that beauty.

I have tigged a new ring on those before then remachined it using an arbor I made to chuck the case half up in a lathe using the timken races & bore. Never tried the flat gasket trick, always went belt if they where roached and it was my sled.

Lookin GOOD! Would suggest maybe some brass, or nickle or gold plating somewhere on the bike to make that red contrast dazzle. Just an old school idea.

I had my softail painted with a darker, vibrant blue from jaguar and a silver ghosted flame licked through it. really loved the combo for a classy but still poppin' look. more food for thought, you likely don't need.

outstanding work and I'm sure it will look fantastic whichever way you end up.

watching you kick that old shovel over for the first time gave me a flashback of the old 3, 13 or 30.

Candy apple red with a medium metal flake and ghost flames, really make all the work and materials you've used pop out. Sleds to slick to do anything but go old school on it.

Love how Harley cases can always be salvaged and saved. Nobody throws away the good years.

I can see that. Ghost flames done classic can work. Super classic flame shape, halfway buried without any tones that are not basic.

Medium metal flake will always stand the test of time. Just enough so that you know it's flashy, but not bass boat heavy.

Yep. Love that kick start. It's so satisfying and keeps it separate. A blue done right is super classy, it's flashy, but on a different level.

You got a seriously clean build going on, wish I'd had access to the machining you have back when I was doing them regular. Think about that paint scheme , your sled just screams that combo to me.

Making my taillight assembly. I sourced a USA made glass lens, and built the housing around it.

I machined some fine threads (24 TPI) and it drops right in, then is secured by the screw-down bezel.

Made the back plate so that I can route the stainless conduit at a 45 degree angle. I made the sissy bar from 304 Stainless, and made little conduit guides to give it some character.

It looks better in real life!
