Gotcha. Thanks.

I wouldn't only get the rocker boxes cut, though, would I? Wouldn't I get the heads done, too, so both mating faces were made pristine?

the head studs are not going to be kind when you try and remove them - its a last resort to go after the head to fly cut - the head is dense and the covers are an open box more prone to moving around

Ok, that makes sense. I was just thinking they'd have to be cut at the same time to maintain a perfect square match between them. But if the rocker box is the one more likely to get warped or worn, this makes sense. I'm trying to avoid any machining right now, if possible.
