I cleaned and inspected the lifter after taking it out of the tappet .
Checked leak down and made sure check ball was working properly.
Question is about adjustment.
Before the leak down test The lifter spring was flush with the top of the body.
Do I adjust the zero lash as it sits or do I push the plunger back into the body until it resists and start from there.
you can and may have to do it twice as the top out location has been lost
some turn them all the way to the bottom un oiled and back off 3 turns see what happens, when they pump up ( just till the pushrod stops turning will be the bottom )
