I repaired mine, was able to purchase the brass? roller 71560-36 from a dealership and replaced.. the old one had flat spots on it and would not maintain contact.

I bought what is called the "electronic switch". Many sell them. It lasted a month on my '81 FLH before the board broke contact with the terminal and I was left on the side of the road. I found a seller on ebay selling the old style switch, the one with the brass bar, it works great. I did some reading on the electronic switches and they are said to fail often, some after a month and some in a couple of years. The the headlight coming on with when the switch is turned on is from a yellow jumper wire between the switch hot terminal and the light terminal. Remove this wire from the light terminal or cut it in two and your headlight will not come on when the switch is turned on. The light coming on is not a function of the switch.
