On my Vulcan 750 I always used the Kill switch, which was. Big and red. It was easy to locate in any light. On my FLHTCUI I use the kill switch to stay in the habit, but not at night. First time I used it at night I accidently hit start, which probaby cut some teeth down or off. So in dark, I will turn off with igntion switch.

I've had two trusted mechanics tell me that the kill switches are problematic and will give you trouble from too much use.B both recommended I always use the ignition switch to shut it off.

They both interupt the same circuit so really doesn't matter it's more of a personal preference or habbit.

My dealer recommended using the kill switch as he said if you don't use it it may become faulty.

I only use the kill switch in certain situations, very seldomly. Have known a lot of people trying to start thier bike and can't figure out what's wrong, 90% of the time it's the kill switch. Imagine having one in a car, lol.

I have been told by no less than 3 Tuners, to leave the Handle Bar switch On, and leave it alone as they have seen troubles with it if used to much.
