After reading the other work that would be required to switch from the A to the 2, I'll probably just stay with the A for now. I didn't realize the 2 needs new collars.

Yes a little work is necessary to accommodate the lift.

The #2 cam lifts to .490" not sure what Scott did to the guides or spring but I do know an adjustment was made. I took it out cause it was a little too much for 9.0:1 comp, driving my oil temp to 245-250*. I wasn't comfortable with that..

You think the cam affected your oil temp???
Never heard that one... but, never worried much about oil temp either... only run oil coolers on O.E. that are being kept Original...

Absolutely, after putting the A2 cam back in my oil temps drop to 225* Max hot on a long trip. Also reduced detonation on a hot day starting off in 1st gear. Earlier intake close...

Earlier intake close would increase dynamic compression ratio increasing combustion temps and engine temp.

A2 Intake: 19/43 242 0.450 Exhaust: 50/18 242 0.450 Overlap: 40

2 Intake: 15/35 230 0.490 Exhaust: 35/15 230 0.490 Overlap: 30 (L.C.)

All things equal, an earlier intake closing will increase the volume of the trapped charge resulting in more of a bang (for the layperson). Its basic engine math.

personally I like the leinweber L3S - its got gobs of torque and super bottom end scat

L3S Intake: 35/59 274 0.485 Exhaust: 63/31 274 0.485 Overlap: 66

remember leinwebers open/close numbers are .020 not .053
