Brake Curious
I recently bought a pair of used fork sliders for my 76 FLH. They came with a decrepit banana caliper. My bike has GMA brakes and I'm sticking with them. I examined the banana caliper when I took it off and it had the usual elongated mounting holes and severely worn slider pin. I've only seen the elongated hole issue addressed by using an oversized pin. Wouldn't it make more sense to install a bushing for the mounting pin? It seems that if there's enough meat to accept an oversized pin, there is enough for a bushing. Just wondering. This is what happens when my wife goes away for the weekend and I can think uninterrupted!
