My bike started off clicking from time to time when I hit start button. Put a tab on solenoid for a second push button and seamed to work fine. Than my button started working fine again. now after several months click! Push the tab on solenoid click!
Pulled clutch cover and my starter was stuck in the gears. Pushed it back and tried the start button again click. So my starter gear is kicking out all the way but seems to not have power to turn engine over. New battery. I also put my battery tender on it overnight same issue.

So when's the last tine ste solenoid has been replaced/rebuilt? Solenoids, relays and bendix gear failures are the bane of Shovel e-start systems. Also check your hard wire connections solenoid, starter, battery (+ and -) to ensure they are tight and not loose.

I did a quick check on wires at battery and at solenoid. The solenoid is old and cheap. Lol I'm just kind of lost because the starter gear kicks out and seems to be fine. just not enough power to turn engine over. Wondering by chance if the starter it's self could be to weak.

Just so the OP understands. The solenoid serves two purposes with two separate circuits. One is to pull the drive out into the gear and secondly to send current to the motor to spin it. At the end of the solenoid travel is a pair of contacts who's circuit is completed by the solenoid itself with (as was mentioned) a copper washer. Metal transfer over time from making and breaking a connection like a set of points damages the contacts and prevents current flow to the motor.

Thank you understanding the full job of the solenoid helps for sure. Haven't looked at it yet but thanks giving is today. No Better time start breaking it down and getting ready for spring.
Bike is starting again but still have to push button a few times for it to turn over. And sounds pretty rough while cranking. Also whining and buzzing sounds.
