Default 1980 low rider

Well I found a bike to fill the void of the bike I never should of sold. It was a 1980 Super Glide FXEF in root beer brown.
I haven't picked up the Low Rider or even seen it outside of a dark garage with a broken door. The owner said he parked it when they pulled the lead out of our gas here in California.
The bike looks OEM from what I can remember. It is all black with the two-in-to-one exhaust still on.
The air cleaner is off and I didn't see it setting near by. He said it should be there.
My question is, do you think it could be a 1200 or were they all 1340's in 1980.
Thanks for any info on what I should do first. I pushed the kick starter by hand and the motor isn't stuck.

so 79 was the last year they came in both 1200 and 1340 versions?

the first two digits of the VIN will tell you for sure.

For 1980 MoCo produced 3,169 FXE 1200 Superglides and 3 FXS 1200 Lowriders (along with 5,922 FXS Lowriders). So the odds are that if it is an FXS it is probably a 80 in version. And as stated the Vin will give you the information needed.

FXS 1200 will have a 2F number; FXS 80 will have a 7G number

Found a pic of the old FXEF
Back when you had to read the paper for the news. Not your cell phone.
