well i pulled the rocker box off and found some pieces of black rtv in the oil passages in the rockershafts and rocker box.... im assuming this did not help me what so ever...
looked at the brass bushings in the rocker shafts and a little bit of scoring
i guess im going to be needing some new rocker arms anyone got recommendations on rocker arms and shafts? brand and roller vs non? let me know guys
the bushings are replaceable and we do them as the real rocker shafts have the right pad angle for the rocker ratio = china $hit is just that but twinkle guys think china $hit is just great
any way the shafts are available if they mike out round and in size = you need a real shop to help not a boutique that sells f house work under wear
while I agree worn bushings and out of round can and does cause noises and oil pressure loss - what make you think you found the issue -- is that exhaust rocker really loose
post up pictures of the pads that rub against the valves

they have some play the engine is 10 years old and some scoring inside the brass bushings also there was alot of the rtv scattered in the box and in the arms and shafts
im thinking they may have got hot from no oil getting to them and getting loud the intake has less play ill post up some pics
typical wear nothing stands out as being lean in oil supply
install the shaft in the correct location and clean and dry see how much wiggle it has - new installs have zero - 25 ,000 miles its a slight rocking in the spring end mostly but both sides well be a bit loose
ok guys did new shafts and arms pulled the cylinders off nothing broken nothing wrong everything was a OK took a big burden off
checking off my bottom end is ok.....
shimmed and set shafts and arms perfectly put everything together oil pressure increased from what it was at before which was a plus
engine was quiet and good to go let it idle for a few minutes more and came back same spot....
spoke to previous owner and he let me know that the only thing he had a problem with was took it to a shop called severe cycles in stewart FL
and took it in for leaking rocker box gaskets and they wound up doing valve stem gaskets and if i understood him right they did valve seats...
so now the only thing left it could be is a bad valve seat? sound right only when at full operating temp gets clanky i tried even adjusting pushrods extra turn tight and also loose still no change
love shovelheads but $30 worth of gaskets turned into a $3k lighter wallet and still cant ride my bike but i really think this is the only thing it could be

Sorry OP but I have to respond to this garbage comment...lol....I was a former Twinkie guy and loved my Twinkie.
John, you are too funny.....you know how to throw jabs here and there LOL. .China $hit is better than Taiwan $hit....however they are both $hit when it comes to Shovels no matter which hand you use.
