Putting my moms 81 Sturgis back to stock and looking for some help with the exhaust. I have the stock exhaust with the crossover but the previous owner put a different mounting bracket on (one for shorty exhaust) and the stock pipes wont bolt up to it. Anyone know of an alternative to the stock bracket that will match with stock pipes as I cant seem to find a stock bracket anywhere anywhere. Thanks.
Hi Eric ,
Do you have an H-D Part # ? i could check with J.W.Boon for you , they sell NOS OEM Harley Parts . . .also any photos of what you got ? i thought that 81 model sturgis came with dual shorties exhaust ?

Would have come with crossover staggered duals..
and the Bracket would be HD# 65615-80A
I actually found one in Canada but since I never got a reply on the post I just left it for dead. Bike is back to 99% original (needing an FXB primary cover) just needs a deep cleaning and detail.
That was my dads first HD - his love for it and all things Harley is what trickled down to his family.
It’s awesome to see these bikes 40 years old in their original glory. All good things are worth the wait!!
Exhaust and all .... Those stock systems ( 2 into 1 ) can get pretty pricey ....
Yes... You are tellin the truth there!!!
I finally scored a pretty nice Survivor Exhaust!!! Not Cheap!!!
Came with a fairly beat stock system.. Thinking of doing something creative with that!!!
