My bike is running OK since the rebuild and I'm going down the punch list of little issues.
I have a 74 Andrews BH Grind - DS199298
S&S Super E with a .074 jet (was .072 before I swapped
Crane push rods (24 TPI)
Crane Blocks and tappet kit for Big Twin and Shovel
My issue today is that when I WOT, I get cut-out. It still runs but it's spitting. Then if I stop, it wants to die... but I can give some throttle and keep it running.
I've checked the obvious like vacuum in the tanks, or a clog. Timing is OK. New coil and wires during rebuild... points are at .018 -.020
I'm thinking I may have a fuel feed issue. I have a stock fuel petcock.
Why did you change to a larger jet? Did you check for vacuum leaks?
Every time you make a jet change, you should go thru the tuning process again. . . close accelerator pump . . . reset mixture screw . . . set idle . . . 3rd gear roll on test . . .

I changed the jet on the advice of the previous owner. He said I'd likely need the .074 jet with the Andrews cam and S&S. The new carb came with a .070, .072 and .074 jet.... .072 was installed.
I did go through the tuning process again with no discernible change to the symptom. I've only put 200 miles on this bike since rebuild, so I'm still shaking things out.... but right now, this is the issue.
I never had any luck with a BH in a stock engine small stroker or hi compression yes but stock no
couple other things - I think your issue is too much fuel
if the float is hi set - you stumbling when braking to a stop is my guess as its drounding in fuel - the float acts like a fishing bobbin and bounces to flood stage couple seconds with the throttle off the stop to bring engine speed up clears it
the 74 main is over the top is rich my second guess - we 28 and 70 with some others like a 295 and a 72 but they have engine work

I didn't answer this earlier. Yes I did check for leaks... New manifold, o-rings and seals... all is good there.

Thanks... I'll go over this again today. I can swap the jet to get a bit leaner and will lower the float a bit.
