I found an OEM idle cable but it has a 90 degree bend, the cables on my bike are 45 degree. I must have after market cables. I have super E
Problem is that my idle cable is 36" long sleeve length with 2" inner cable throw. The throw needs to be 1.5". The barrel is loose as a result of being slack and binds against the carb body and throttle plate.
Anyone have pics of a good set up that works properly?
both cables measure at 33” for stock (this is the black outer length) and have a 130 degree elbow.
The ‘pull’ cable has a 5/16” 18tpi thread into the throttle housing and has 3 7/8” exposed inner.
The ‘push’ idle cable has a 1/4” 20tpi thread into the throttle body and has 3 3/4” exposed inner.
you do it need the taller cable bracket at the carb, the stock cables for a kehein butterfly are correct for an s and s. The taller bracket is to use a s and s with stock cables for a cv carb.
hope that helps

I understood until that last line......taller bracket for both?? OEM carb shows the short bracket.
