the inner hub in the center of the clutch shell is not held by the disc that has the 3 springs on it - remove the springs and the disc
the ram jet comes with the incorrect size snap rings - hardware store with one of them and get the thinner ones but the same overall size - install the ram jet in the a b or c - just use the B spray some lube on the hub pins and push it all the way home and install the 3 snap rings on the 3 nut studs in place of the tin disc springs - this is what holds the works in place - the hubs posts if worn and or the clutch discs wont slide easy on and off the jet may not work - as stated above in the other post - new springs want 1 inch between the back of the 3 nuts pressure plate and the inner disc larger flat plate - fitting it behind when the nut is in place NOW its a 1./2 turn thing so its not perfect as well as 3 nuts on 10 studs - ya think - but it works
The springs I got are blue, but I can't remember the brand. They are about the same pressure as stock, so perfect unless you are pushing a lot of torque thru the clutch.
Panz and John are more knowledgeable than I am, but on my later shovel I installed the Primo Rivera Engineering clutch pack and it's great. Someone had assembled mine wrong and scarred the shell. Wouldn't be a big deal, except mine is an FXB. Luckily I found a NOS and it's on my shelf for the future.
Looking at everything in the primary the only obvious problem I see is all the broken springs and the missing safety wire. I can't imagine what would cause the springs to break, I can imagine a bonehead not installing the wire unless it isn't necessary.

Install the safety wire, it's cheap insurance. Maybe the bonehead didn't have any wire or skills, but they do make a retainer that goes between the two bolts and you bend the tabs. That should have been used there.

hate to think what would happen if those 2 bolts came out
