Default Banana caliper question

It's a rainy day so I thought I would check out the brakes on my 79 FLH, the rear didn't feel right anyway. When I pulled the rear caliper apart one of the locating pins was broken. My parts manual doesn't show the 79 rear caliper so I'm wondering if the pins are the same front and rear? Here is the broken pin

I need to get pads for the rear so will try to get the pins too just wanted to confirm part number. Front is 44124-72

Also wanted to show what RacePress is always stressing to do while you have the pads out.
Here is a glazed over pad that has plenty of meat left. This is my front

Here is the pad after just a minute with 80 grit on a cinder block. This is my preferred method but you can achieve the same result several ways

This makes a huge difference in the performance of your brake pads

Default Caliper pin #

I believe you have the correct part number.
Do you run a spring under the rear caliper? If not you need to. Then you will never need to buy pins again.

Dogfoot, how about posting a picture of the whole bike. The teaser you used in your post isn't enough.

I do have the spring, not sure why the pin broke though. I have ordered pins and pads, after looking around there are no separate listings for front and rear so it looks like they must be the same part #.

Thanks Larry. I had looked over the parts breakdown and found the same things. I think the part that had me questioning was that the service manual says the calipers are not interchangeable so I wondered if the parts were the same. Apparently they are.

They aren't interchangeable because of mounting configurations, pins & pads are the same.

Grease those pins a little when you put it back together.
