Default Solo seat OEM 52004-25 Vs 52006-47B

May I please ask what is the difference between PN 52004-25 and PN 52006-47B. They both appear to share the same pan, the 25 has a plain skirtless back, the 47 has a skirt. Thanks in advance.

52004-25

54006-47B

Thanks for your reply, Heathers Leathers offers many nice seats, they're not for me.

Please don't be mistaken by the posted photos, they're just examples of what HD currently offers, OEM 52004-25 Vs 52006-47B. These seats are currently manufactured in Mexico.

Are they both the same pan, one has a skirt, and the other doesn't, is this the only difference?

The pans changed over the years, vented VS non-vented. Probably a bunch of other differences. What are your trying to accomplish? Are you looking for something year correct for a specific bike? More info, better answers. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply.

I've purchased, and mounted a 25 tractor seat to my '19 FLHT, bending some A2 steel, and incorporating a police seat coil over spring PN 52100008. It's my modern version of a pogo solo seat setup. I wasn't aware of HD 47B seat when I purchased the OEM 25, and am way over thinking this, (No one is ever going to give a rats a$$ what this looks like accept me.) wondering if I sell the 25, and replace it with a 47. The OC distance between the mounting holes on both pans appear to be identical, it looks like the exact same pan, just the skirt was added to the 47B seat.

Early on I looked at Mother Road Custom, La Pera, and Heathers Leathers, an at this point would have been ahead of the game money wise had I gone in that direction, but I chose to go OEM, looking to pay homage to the 50 years younger '69 FLH's.

Does the OEM 47B just have a skirt that the OEM 25 doesn't? Thanks again, and let me add the shovel projects by yourself, and JZ have turned out amazing!

I’ve got a couple of the skirted seats on shovels. As previously stated it depends on what you’re looking for and how much you want to spend. The skirt is hard with Spears that can work loose. They are adequate and look period correct and much cheaper. If you’re looking for authenticity, you’ll pay significantly more. You pay your money and takes your chances.

Shovelhead Crew thanks for entertaining my inane question, it's much appreciated. Thanks too for preserving the FLH heritage by maintaining these beautiful bikes, keeping them operational, and on the road for all to enjoy.
