Good job on those fins OP. How did you sand them without messing up the paint too much?
Probably just got lucky , but I did put the heads under a heat lamp for 24 hours and then they sat on top of my boiler for a few days the effort was to make the paint baked on and dry to make the painted edges easier to sand then light sanding with 100 grit and 120 grit , the real test is when the engine is running fingers crossed this is the first time I used wrinkle paint.
Cir Clip Installation ... It's one of life's lessons best learned by experience :>
My experience so far is not good my close up vision is blurry which really hampers this particular job. I'm lucky tho I think I have the answer as I live close to V Twin manufacturing they sell strictly to dealers but this coming Saturday they have an open house event and will sell to the general public so I will go down and buy these standard style clips I hope they fit. https://www2.vtwinmfg.com/piston-wrist-pin-lock-1.html
Before and after of my cylinders with new paint opinions please? Not sure if I like the look, I used VHT flat black engine paint . Not really sure what the before pic paint type is kinda looks flat black also kinda looks like worn out satin black.
So the question is what type black did HD use on a 79 Lowrider gloss, semi gloss, satin, flat or wrinkle?
