^^^^^ i like that.....i just did an oil change last weekend, cleaned everything up and found the alloy washer still in the bottom of the drained oil didnt I...so it was the ole whip off the tank plug, quickly put your finger over the hole with the other hand replace the washer on the plug then quickly replace plug without losing too much oil. for once, all went well and only lost about an oz or two.
While I am waiting for the tank to show, I found a Factory Accessory headlight visor. It needed to be knocked around a little bit (might need a little more) and some polish time but I am digging it.
New to my bike OEM tank arrived via the Bay. "animalhouse2010" sells some good stuff, though sometimes expensive. Nicer paint than expected. Took off the trim, gave that about an hour of my life de-greasing than polishing. Inside of tank got the white vinegar for 24 hours, than water flush followed by several gasoline flushes. Clean as when new. Outside cleaned with Simple Green and different rags and scrubbing pads. After seeing the final product I decided not to remove the original paint. Plan was to install then sympathetically touch up only what would be visible. My usual method is a cotton ball and dabbing, worked out well once again. In the basement it looks dam good, we will see how she looks in the daylight. 85% complete yesterday afternoon, than I grabbed a beer and sat back to marvel at my new oil tank. Get her completed for next weekend, no rush, being patient and all of that.
After pressure testing. Tank and trim all cleaned up Something is missing Battery side Touched up the original paint Looks good from this distance and angle, seat will cover the rest.
