Default 75 basket case build

Helping a friend put his bike back together. I have restored a shovelhead but it's been 30 years ago. And it's a little more head scratching when I am not the one that took it apart and all the bolts are in one bucket.

Where I started and where I am at now.
this has me stumped, what is it / where does it go?

Bit of advice, get the swingarm and rear wheel on and hang the chain loosely before you install the starter & inner primary. Make's life a bit easier at that point, plus you eyeball it alignment better.

I also meant to add that if your going to use forwards with the master mounted in the front, you do not need the bracket, its only if Mid's are used

If you keep the bolts, nuts etc with the part, they are still in the way.

When disassembling a machine, each part should be tagged or bagged, slow but makes re assembly much easier.

And since they're easy to do, cell phone pics of the disassembled parts and what goes with them make things simpler going forward.

With that in mind a parts manual can be helpful, even with your build (it appears to be a semi-custom). Some HD bolts are very specific to a certain section of the bike.
