I remember being in a HD dealership in '84. They had a couple new FXs, one with a shovel, and one Evo. The salesman didn't like the Evo at all, he said the Shovel was a refined, proven engine, why would anyone buy a first generation unproven engine. I didn't know what to think, but his coment did make sense.
^^ Thanks Troy... a First for me to see an Evo FXS
RFG 7680; When Discussing various Models, I feel it is Important to provide Stock Examples...since yes... Anyrthing, and Everything can be Changed... My friend had a 1974 FX (no E), and it was perfectly dressed as an FLH.. Not the Best example of Either!!!

I stand corrected. There was supposed to be an apostophy after the FX (FX's) becasue I couldn't remember the last letter. I was thinking it was an E, but not sure, so I just went with the beginning thinking "close enough" to get the thought across.

I once read the foreword of an electronics book from 1955 which said transistors would never amount to anything and would never replace the vacuum tube...
