Jeff,

I am saying how it was advertised as. No I have not purchased the bike.
Owner says inherited the bike from original owner.
Does not look like original paint but does look like 16K miles bike.

Another 1981 super glide
This one advertised as 9K original miles.
He agreed that the front wheel has been swapped and converted to single disc from dual.
Does look like like 9K...

wrong wheel, wrong brake, wrong forks, wrong carb & pipes,..lotsa miss-matched parts on it whatever the mileage,
what are ya after, a correct period bike or an all round good rider ?... if ya want 'correct' & low mileage good runner t'll cost ya... nothing original is cheap, as only original once

He's going to roach it making a bobber anyway, that last one is clean and has a lot of ready to use decent components he won't have to rebuy, do you really want to see a solid correct stocker go down the toilet like that?

I think it's a clean bike and like it. I like just about everything pre 1970 though and will go up to 84 on shovels just because it's a shovel. Once the owner gets it, it's theirs and they can and should do what ever they want to it. But that doesn't mean I have to like it either

Which last one? Post #177 you mean? Or the one after that with swapped wheel?

176 if the mechanicals are decent would be a good choice for you if you are going to tear it apart anyway.

The silver bike, last one would be a shame to bob, it's done rather clean and looks like they had a clue.

Keep in mind we cannot remotely advise you as far how they run or possible issues from just the pic's , but those are the best options you've shown yet. I'd look at those if I was shopping for a newbie.

Blue one to bob as it needs a few things I can see, the silver one just buy it and ride, leave it alone and maybe just personalize it a bit, it's that clean.

Been looking and learning. Even bought a History book on Harleys

I like the Silver better. Honestly, I would've done that front swap myself. Wide looks better. And actually think single disc looks better too, showing more of the wire wheels. Plus, it looks a tad longer.

I probably will ride it like that for some time... and then maybe **** canned

But, it's just like putting on a different dress on the same bike. It can be reversed back to original, not too hard.
